EARLY JESUS TRADITIONS: SAYINGS GOSPELS & AGRAPHA

What Are the Earliest Sources for the Memories of Jesus?

In this exciting class, guided by a biblical studies professor, explore the earliest period in the formation of the Gospels, examining how early Christians approached the teachings of Jesus prior to and at the time of Mark's first gospel. Learn about two long forgotten gospels (Q and Thomas) that have transformed modern discussions about both early Christianity and the identity of Jesus. Discover why the canonical gospel of Mark was first written and why scholars are coming to believe that Mark was a slave.
